D&G Logistics Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and dependable Truck Trailer Mechanic (NOC 72410) to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong diagnostic and repair skills to maintain our fleet of commercial trucks and trailers while ensuring safety and reliability.
Position Details
- Position: Truck Trailer Mechanic (NOC 72410)
- Location: 1020 Wellings Road, RM of Sherwood (Regina), SK S4K 0A2
- Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
- Salary: $33.60 per hour
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in commercial trucks and trailers.
- Inspect engines, transmissions, drive trains, steering systems, suspensions, axles, and differentials to identify defects and malfunctions.
- Repair, overhaul, adjust, or replace components of truck and trailer systems.
- Inspect and repair brake systems, air brake components, wheel bearings, hubs, and suspension assemblies.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on commercial transport vehicles.
- Conduct safety inspections and roadworthiness assessments to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and transportation regulations.
- Operate computerized diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Test repaired vehicles and adjust systems to ensure proper performance and safety.
- Repair or replace lighting systems, electrical wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, and charging systems.
- Perform welding or fabrication of minor metal components and brackets when required.
- Replace tires, wheels, and related components and perform wheel-end inspections.
- Estimate parts and labour required for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
- Order or recommend replacement parts and advise management regarding future maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop while complying with occupational health and safety procedures.
- Respond to emergency mechanical breakdowns and assist in minimizing vehicle downtime.
Qualifications
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years, or equivalent technical training.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience repairing commercial trucks and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, truck-trailer systems, air brakes, and diagnostics.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment
- On-site position (no remote work available).
- Morning, Day, Evening, and Weekend shifts may be required.
- Fast-paced commercial repair environment.
- Criminal record check may be required.
