Job Overview:
BCD TRANSPORT INC. is a well-established Freight/Transportation company located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We are currently seeking 5 Long Haul Truck Drivers (NOC 73300) to join our team. The role involves long-distance travel and the safe transportation of goods and materials across various locations.
Education & Experience:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: Will train
Work Environment:
- On the Road: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
- Shift Types: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Night, Overtime, Shift, Weekend
Responsibilities:
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS or other navigation devices to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions
- Deliver professionalism in customer service
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods safely
- Obtain special permits and documents required for international cargo routes
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks for material transportation
- Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Communicate and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- Ensure proper tarping, safety, and security of cargo
Credentials:
- AZ Class License
- Air Brakes Endorsement
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
